Friends and Historic Brewing Company Collaboration

October 5, 2022

Many individuals and organizations share the vision of the Friends of Flagstaff National Monuments (Friends), to support the preservation of the monuments’ natural and cultural heritage through stewardship, education, and community engagement.

We are happy to share the news of a new collaboration with The Historic Brewing Company (Historic). Historic is set to support our efforts in a tasty and fun way. Toward the end of October, they will be releasing a special brew known as a Dunkel, a dark brown lager. They will donate a portion of the proceeds of the sale of this batch of this brew to the Friends, further allowing us to support park programs.

Abigayle Bartels, Marketing Manager for Historic Brewing Company said that their organization recognizes the importance of the local national monuments as one part of what makes a trip to the Flagstaff areas special. They are happy to support efforts to protect and enjoy Flagstaff’s “backyard parks” with the release of this traditionally brewed beer.

Friends Board Chair, Mary Blasing said that in addition to the special brew, this partnership also allows the Friends to interact with a broader spectrum of the Flagstaff resident and visitor population. Plans include occasional programs about the monuments by National Park Service employees, to be held in the downtown area.

Both the Friends and Historic are proud to support the National Park Service in preserving and educating the public about three of the seven “Wonders of Flagstaff.” These photos are from our participation in the 9th-anniversary celebration of the Historic Brewing Company, where we made lots of contacts and new friends of the Flagstaff National Monuments.
