Tentative due to COVID
Visitor experience is often enhanced by viewing and interacting with individuals who demonstrate their talents while explain their personal connections to these ancestral homes.
Other activities include poetry and/or creative writing workshops where the public can hone their skills in describing their feelings and experiences regarding the monuments. Some providers will require honoraria for their time.
Due to COVID-19 related closures, one of the park’s non-profit partners, Western National Parks and Monuments Association (WNPA) has seen a catastrophic decline in their revenue. WNPA is responsible for operating the three educational park stores, located in each visitor center. Until WNPA can financially recover (the current projection is approximately two years after the pandemic ends), the Friends hope to fill that void and keep this vital program funded.
