The National Park Service is always looking for quality volunteers who can provide assistance in the following areas:
- Interpretation and Visitor Services
- Resource Management
- Facility Maintenance
- Administration
The Friends would like to support this essential, but under-funded program. As housing (shared quarters, RV pads) in the monuments is extremely limited, local Flagstaff area residents are especially encouraged to apply. When housing is available and provided, associated costs are paid for by the host park.
For further information regarding becoming a volunteer, contact Richard Ullmann at Richard_Ullmann@nps.gov, (928) 526-1157 x228.
Due to COVID-19 related closures, one of the park’s non-profit partners, Western National Parks and Monuments Association (WNPA) has seen a catastrophic decline in their revenue. WNPA is responsible for operating the three educational park stores, located in each visitor center. Until WNPA can financially recover (the current projection is approximately two years after the pandemic ends), the Friends hope to fill that void and keep this vital program funded.
